General Vision Problems, Causes and Treatments, Eye Problems

Different parts of the body require varying types of nutrients in order to stay healthy. The eyes are among the most crucial organs that require appropriate nutrition. Vitamin A is stated to be the single most important nutrient that can help restore the eye muscles and improve vision. Doctors state that a majority of Vision Problems is caused by the deficiency in vitamins.

Two of the most common Eye Problems are near sightedness and far sightedness. The symptoms of near sightedness are a clear vision in the vicinity and blurred for an object which is far. It is just the opposite for far sightedness where a person has a clear view of things in the farthest and has a near vision which is quite clear. Other types of Vision Problems are astigmatism in which a sharp focused image cannot be formed on the retina. Cataract and Glaucoma are two other vision issues that may be caused with age.

For those people who have cataract, light cannot pass through the eyes as the vision becomes blurred or dim. The only method to remove cataract is to have a surgery which is quite simple and leaves no complications. Glaucoma is the most common eye problem for those who are aged above 40. The high pressure in the eyes leads to the optic nerve damage which can be treated with either eye drop of surgery.

Another age related eye problem is presbyopia. The symptoms of this ailment are that the vision becomes blurred when objects are too close. These have to be placed at an arm’s length to restore clear vision. This happens when the lens loses its ability to remain focused. With age the lens loses its flexibility which makes it difficult to focus nearby objects. Hence, the most common way to treat such Eye Problems is to wear glasses or contact lenses.

In order to find out about Vision Problems it is important to visit the doctor at a regular time. The sooner the problem is discovered the better and easier to treat it. The doctor can also advise you on how to protect and improve your vision.
